About the Language Assistants Program
The Language Assistants Program (LAP) gives young Indonesians the opportunity to work in Western Australian public schools for one year, supporting the teaching of Indonesian language and culture. Language Assistants work as Education Assistants within the WA Department of Education and may be placed in metropolitan or country schools.

Applicants Must Be:

• Indonesian citizens
• Under 31 years old in 2026
• Able to demonstrate strong written and spoken English
• Passionate about promoting Indonesian language and culture

What Language Assistants Do
Assistants support classroom teachers, help deliver Indonesian lessons, share cultural knowledge, and contribute to school activities. Work is full-time during the school year according to the WA school term calendar.

Applications for 2026
Applicants must:

2. Prepare all required documents (CV, English test results, recommendation letter, video introduction, guarantor letter, etc.)
3. Submit an online application form
