Language Assistant Program

Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth, Western Australia and the Department of Education of Western Australia arrange for four talented, young and dedicated teachers to work in WA schools to assist with the learning and teaching of Indonesian.

The 2017 language assistants are welcomed to Perth by Karen Bailey (Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth), Pamela Stewart (Department of Education) and Bramantya Widodo (Vice consul, Republic of Indonesia).

From the left, we introduce:

Jessica Wijayanti from Jakarta.
Sitti Marhamah from Southeast Sulawesi.
Tantra Afianto from West Jawa
Ary Qurnia from Jambi

BBIP wishes Jessica, Sitti, Ary and Tantra happy and successful teaching, learning and living experiences in WA.

For the school year, from January to December, language assistants teach and assist in two Indonesian language classrooms. They promote Indonesian language teaching and learning in Western Australia and serve as goodwill ambassadors to introduce Indonesian culture to enhance the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Australia.

Assistants share their stories.
Meet assistants who have worked in Western Australian schools; read their stories and watch their videos.

Please note that applications for the 2018 Program have CLOSED.
