Language Assistant Program

Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth, Western Australia and the Department of Education of Western Australia arrange for four talented, young and dedicated teachers to work in WA schools to assist with the learning and teaching of Indonesian.

The 2017 language assistants are welcomed to Perth by Karen Bailey (Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth), Pamela Stewart (Department of Education) and Bramantya Widodo (Vice consul, Republic of Indonesia).

From the left, we introduce:

Sitti Marhamah from Southeast Sulawesi.
Tantra Afianto from West Jawa
Ary Qurnia from Jambi




BBIP wishes Jessica, Sitti, Ary and Tantra happy and successful teaching, learning and living experiences in WA.

For the school year, from January to December, language assistants teach and assist in two Indonesian language classrooms. They promote Indonesian language teaching and learning in Western Australia and serve as goodwill ambassadors to introduce Indonesian culture to enhance the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Australia.

Read the Language Assistant Program GUIDELINES before completing the APPLICATION FORM

Applications must be submitted by email and contain the following:
1   Completed application form
2   A passport-sized photograph (3 x 4 cm) 
3   A letter of recommendation from your immediate supervisor.
4   A copy of IELTS or TOEFL certificate.
5   A copy of education certificate and transcript .
6   A short essay (min 500 words) about your motivation and expression of interest to take part in the Language Assistant Program.
7   A letter stating that you agree
  • to NOT bringing your family member/s to Australia during the program. 
  • to be responsible for all your expenses relating to LAP program.
  • to be posted to any location within the state of Western Australia.
8  A criminal record check from Indonesian Police Department. 

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 30 June 2017
INCOMPLETE or LATE applications will not be accepted.
