The Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth is a cultural non-profit organisation, promoting the teaching of Indonesian language and fostering cultural links between Australia and Indonesia at all levels of society.

The business of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth Inc. is conducted by a voluntary Board comprised of representatives from the Westralian Indonesian Language Teachers' Association (WILTA), Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia Perth, and community representatives. The Board's role is to supervise, and direct the work of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth Incorporated in accordance with its Constitution.

Mission

Our mission is to provide Indonesian language and culture education to enable Australians to interact effectively with Indonesian people. Furthermore, the Organisation will have a role in increasing activities and bonds between individuals, businesses, communities and institutions in order to develop a more effective Indonesia-Australia relationship at all levels of society. The Balai Bahasa will strive to foster a positive attitude towards each other amongst the peoples of our two nations.

The mission of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth will be achieved through:

1. promoting the teaching and learning of Indonesian throughout Western Australian and across Australia
2. providing access to language classes in Indonesian as a second language at a range of levels
3. hosting and coordinating Indonesian cultural and language events throughout WA, in city and regional areas
4. supporting a range of activities which foster cross cultural links amongst individuals, groups and associations in Indonesia and Australia
