The Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth is a cultural non-profit organisation, promoting the teaching of Indonesian language and fostering cultural links between Australia and Indonesia at all levels of society.
The business of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth Inc. is conducted by a voluntary Board comprised of representatives from the Westralian Indonesian Language Teachers' Association (WILTA), Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia Perth, and community representatives. The Board's role is to supervise, and direct the work of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth Incorporated in accordance with its Constitution.

At the 2017 Annual General Meeting (22 February 2017) eight proposed amendments to the Constitution will be presented to the membership for approval. The amendments mainly concern changed requirements of the WA Government's Department of Commerce.
Information about the proposed amendments will be sent by email to all financial members prior to the AGM and those who are unable to attend the AGM to vote in person will be provided with a voting form that will need to be returned to BBIP to arrive BEFORE 21 February 2017.
